SafeKeep Beta

Losing your place shouldn't mean losing your things.

SafeKeep connects people facing eviction with neighbors, churches and storage partners who will hold a few sealed totes for days, weeks or months, for a small fee.

We're in beta and not open in any city yet. Sign up as someone who needs storage or someone who can host. We'll open first where the most people need help and hosts are ready.

Need help today?

SafeKeep can't store anything yet. These can help right now:

  • Call or text 211: local help with housing, shelter, food and moving costs, anywhere in the U.S.
  • LawHelp.org: free legal aid near you. Many evictions can be slowed or stopped.
  • RastaCamp Alerts: free drinking water and food banks near your ZIP.
  • Before you move: photograph or scan your ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, lease and court papers, and keep the originals on you.

How it will work

  1. Pick totes and a time. Choose how many totes and how long: daily, weekly or monthly.
  2. Match with a host nearby. A storage partner, church or vetted neighbor. You both sign a simple agreement in the app.
  3. Seal and drop off. You pack and seal each tote with a numbered tag. You both photograph the seals and confirm. The host never opens your things.
  4. Extend in one tap. Friendly reminders before each renewal, no surprises.
  5. Pick up. You check the seals together, and your deposit covers the last period.

Safe and fair for everyone

Sealed totes

Hosts keep the tote safe; they never see or handle what's inside.

Photo check-in

Both people photograph the seal numbers at drop-off and pickup. That record settles most disputes.

Verified people

ID checks for hosts and renters, and ratings after every stay.

Clear rules

No weapons, drugs, food, hazardous items, animals or cash. Simple, written abandonment rules that are fair to both sides.

Where SafeKeep is needed

Questions

Is SafeKeep a storage company?

No. We don't own space or hold anyone's things. We connect people who need short-term storage with hosts, and provide the agreement, payments, photo records and support.

Why sealed totes?

They keep your things private, make pricing simple, and mean a host is only responsible for keeping the tote safe and intact.

What if I can't pay?

We're building a sponsor fund so churches, donors and local businesses can cover storage weeks for people who need them.

What happens if someone doesn't come back?

Clear steps written into every agreement: reminders, a final notice, then a move to a partner storage unit, and only after a long wait, donation to a partner charity.

Can I host from an apartment?

Maybe. You'll need your landlord's or HOA's permission and a lockable space. We'll start with storage businesses and nonprofits, then add home hosts.
